Terms of Service

1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of Wallnut, an iOS app provided by App Garage. By downloading, accessing, or using Wallnut, you agree to these terms and to the Wallnut Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Your download and use of Wallnut through the App Store is also subject to Apple's applicable terms, including the Apple Media Services Terms and the standard App Store licensed application end user license agreement, unless Apple or App Garage provides different terms that apply.

2. The Service

Wallnut provides tools for manual finance record keeping, including accounts, balances, transactions, transfers, budgets, scheduled items, receipt drafts, goals, portfolio holdings, manual prices, exchange-rate assisted conversions, local backups, CSV export, deletion controls, iCloud Sync where available, and supported market data features where available.

We may add, change, limit, suspend, or discontinue features to improve Wallnut, meet platform requirements, comply with provider terms, control security risk, or keep the app reliable.

3. Your Records and Responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and suitability of the records you enter or import into Wallnut. You should review receipt OCR drafts, imported or restored files, exchange-rate conversions, market-data freshness states, and portfolio valuations before relying on them.

You are responsible for keeping your device, Apple account, iCloud account, backups, exported files, screenshots, and shared files secure. Wallnut backups and CSV exports are not encrypted by Wallnut and may contain private financial data.

4. Not Financial, Investment, Tax, or Legal Advice

Wallnut does not provide financial, investment, trading, tax, accounting, legal, or professional advice. Any balances, charts, conversions, confidence indicators, stale-data states, quote snapshots, or summaries are for personal record keeping and informational use only.

You are solely responsible for financial decisions, tax filings, investment decisions, trades, transfers, and any other actions you take based on your records or information shown in Wallnut. Consult qualified professionals before making decisions that require professional judgment.

5. Market Data, Exchange Rates, and Valuations

Wallnut can show manual, cached, or provider-backed exchange rates, quote snapshots, instrument search results, and valuations. Those values may be delayed, stale, incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, rate-limited, subject to provider rights, or changed without notice. Verify important decisions with your bank, broker, exchange, tax adviser, or another authoritative source.

Instrument search may trigger additional quote lookups to improve search results, and automatic quote refresh may send supported ticker and exchange identifiers to Wallnut-managed services. You acknowledge and agree that even when Wallnut does not send account IDs, quantities, cost basis, or lot data, a ticker or exchange identifier transmits those symbols and can reveal assets you track or are interested in.

When automatic quote features are enabled, Wallnut may also request quotes for stored instruments during portfolio valuation or other quote-dependent screens. Wallnut may label market data with source, freshness, and provider attribution information, and may display provider names or attribution links where required by provider or exchange terms.

Wallnut is not designed for trading, order execution, real-time market monitoring, or guaranteed portfolio valuation. You should verify prices, exchange rates, taxes, fees, corporate actions, and account balances with authoritative sources before making financial decisions.

Automatic quote refresh is available only for supported assets and only when the app-side entitlement state, backend availability, provider rights, quotas, and technical conditions allow it. Manual price entry remains your fallback. Manual prices and provider caches can become stale under Wallnut's freshness policies. Provider rights, data retention limits, display rights, or backend policy may require Wallnut to stop refreshing, stop displaying, mark as stale, or remove particular provider-derived data.

Wallnut may present quotes as manual, fresh, stale, delayed, missing, or unavailable. Those states are part of the service and are not a guarantee of current executable market prices.

6. Wallnut Plus and App Store Purchases

A Wallnut Plus subscription unlocks eligible paid features described in the app or App Store listing at the time of purchase. These may include iCloud Sync, automatic price refresh for supported assets, expanded limits, or other paid features. Wallnut may offer Wallnut Plus through auto-renewable App Store subscriptions such as Wallnut Plus Monthly and Wallnut Plus Yearly.

Prices, trial availability, taxes, billing period, renewal terms, and cancellation controls are shown by Apple before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off or the subscription is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, identifying the cost of the renewal. You can manage or cancel subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal through Apple Billing and Subscriptions or App Store Account Settings after purchase. Refund requests are handled by Apple under App Store policies through Apple's report a problem service.

A subscription does not guarantee that every provider-backed feature will be available for every asset, exchange, country, device, or time. If a provider, app-side entitlement state, iCloud service, Firebase function, or App Store service is unavailable, Wallnut may limit the feature, show stale data, or ask you to use manual entry.

7. iCloud Sync, Backups, and Data Deletion

iCloud Sync, when enabled and available, stores eligible Wallnut records in your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit service. Apple controls iCloud availability, account access, quotas, and platform behavior. Unless you disable Apple device backup features, local Wallnut data may also be included in Apple-managed device backups or iCloud Backup. Those backups are controlled by Apple and your device or account settings, not by Wallnut alone.

Wallnut's backup, CSV export, restore, and local delete tools are provided as data ownership controls. You should keep your own trusted backups before deleting data, switching stores, changing devices, or restoring files. Deleting records in Wallnut may not delete copies already exported, emailed, saved to Files, stored in iCloud Drive, shared with another app, or retained by another service.

8. Receipt OCR and Permissions

If you grant camera or photo access and scan or import a receipt, Wallnut uses on-device text recognition to suggest a draft transaction. OCR results can be wrong or incomplete. You must review and correct drafts before saving them.

If you enable scheduled reminders, iOS notification permissions and delivery behavior are controlled by your device settings and Apple platform rules.

9. App Lock

App Lock uses device authentication and Keychain storage to help protect Wallnut on your device. App Lock is an additional privacy convenience, not a guarantee against all access, device compromise, account compromise, screenshots, notifications, backups, exported files, or access by someone who can unlock your device.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree that you will not:

• Use Wallnut for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, abusive, or infringing purposes.
• Attempt to bypass App Store purchase, entitlement, rate limit, App Check, security, or provider restrictions.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, interfere with, or misuse Wallnut, Firebase functions, or market data providers except where applicable law gives you a non-waivable right.
• Upload, import, or share content that you do not have the right to use.
• Use Wallnut or its data as a substitute for regulated financial, brokerage, accounting, tax, or legal systems where such systems are required.

11. Third-Party Services

Wallnut may depend on Apple services, Google Firebase, Google Cloud, exchange-rate providers (such as Frankfurter, fawazahmed0/exchange-api, or ExchangeRate-API Open Access), Wallnut-managed market data providers, and other third-party services. Those services may have their own terms, privacy policies, outages, limits, fees, data rights, attribution requirements, or regional availability. App Garage is not responsible for third-party services it does not control. Third-party provider terms may also restrict how provider-derived market data can be refreshed, retained, displayed, exported, or redistributed.

12. Ownership and License

App Garage and its licensors own Wallnut, including the app, design, code, trademarks, and other intellectual property. Subject to these terms and Apple's applicable license rules, you receive a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use Wallnut on Apple-branded devices that you own or control.

You retain ownership of the records and content you create in Wallnut. You authorize App Garage and the service providers actually involved in a feature you use to process the minimum information reasonably needed to provide that feature, support, security, and legal compliance described in these terms and the Privacy Policy.

13. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wallnut is provided "as is" and "as available." App Garage does not warrant that Wallnut will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, complete, secure against every risk, compatible with every device or iOS version, or available in every country or region.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, App Garage will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost opportunities, investment losses, trading losses, tax penalties, provider outages, or loss of access to exported files, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations. In those jurisdictions, the limitations apply only to the extent permitted by law.

15. Termination

You may stop using Wallnut at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to provider-backed or paid features if required by law, Apple, provider terms, security risk, non-payment, entitlement failure, abuse, or violation of these terms. Local records on your device remain your responsibility.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms when Wallnut changes, providers change, legal requirements change, or release conditions require it. The effective date will show when the latest version applies. Continued use of Wallnut after changes means you accept the updated terms.

17. Governing Law

To the extent permitted by applicable law, these terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict of law rules. Mandatory consumer protection laws in your country or region may still apply.
